Greenmeadows, New Zealand

Greenmeadows is a friendly suburb located in the city of Napier. It's part of the beautiful Hawke's Bay region on New Zealand's eastern North Island. Greenmeadows is part of the Taradale area within Napier.

A Look Back: History of Greenmeadows

In 1857, a long time ago, Greenmeadows was bought by Henry Stokes Tiffin and two brothers, Henry and George Allen. They used the land to raise sheep. The area got its name, Greenmeadows, because of a special type of grass called danthonia that grew there, making the fields look very green.

Fun in the Parks

One important park in Greenmeadows is Anderson Park. From 1886 to 1960, it was used for horse racing by the Napier Park Racing Club. Today, it's a peaceful park where people can relax and enjoy nature.
