Gregory O'Neil McCarthy (born October 30, 1968) is an American former professional baseball player. He was a relief pitcher. Greg played for the Seattle Mariners in Major League Baseball (MLB). He was with the Mariners from 1996 to 1998.

Baseball Career

After playing in Major League Baseball, Greg McCarthy continued his baseball journey. In 2003, he pitched for the Macon Peaches. This team was part of an independent league. Independent leagues are professional baseball leagues that are not directly connected to MLB teams.

In 2004, he played for two other independent teams. These were the Atlantic City Surf and the New Haven County Cutters.

After his playing days, Greg became a baseball coach. He coached teams in the Netherlands. He also taught at baseball clinics and academies. On February 17, 2009, he became the head coach for the Mosquito Athletics Attnang-Puchheim. This team plays in the Austrian Baseball League. In 2010, McCarthy played and coached for AVG Draci Brno. This team plays in the Czech Extraliga [cs], which is the top baseball league in the Czech Republic.
