Gregorio López Fuentes (born November 17, 1897 – died December 10, 1966) was an important Mexican writer. He is best known for his short story A Letter to God. He also wrote many stories about the Mexican Revolution, a big historical event in Mexico.
When he was young, Gregorio spent a lot of time in his father's general store. There, he met many different people like Indigenous people, farmers, and workers. He learned a lot about their lives, and he later wrote about them in his books.

His Famous Books
His first successful book was Campamento (meaning "Encampment") in 1931. After that, he wrote several other books about the Revolution.
Stories of the Revolution
- Tierra (meaning "Earth") in 1932 was a novel about Emiliano Zapata, a famous Mexican revolutionary leader.
- ¡Mi general! (meaning "My General!") in 1934 looked at the lives of generals after the Revolution ended.
- El indio (meaning "The Indian") in 1935 became his most celebrated work. It was a fictional story about the lives of Mexico's Indigenous people.

Later in his life, Gregorio López Fuentes became a teacher in a school in Mexico City. In 1921, he started writing under the pen name G.L Fuentes. People in Mexico found his stories exciting and often humorous.
