Greidys Zaldívar (born Greidys Gil Nimo on November 18, 1980, in Havana, Cuba) is a talented Cuban actress, television host, model, and beauty queen. She became famous after winning the reality TV show and beauty contest Nuestra Belleza Latina in 2009. After many weeks of competition, Greidys won the top prize of $200,000 and a contract with Univision. She also earned the special title of Nuestra Belleza Latina 2009. She was even chosen as one of the "50 Most Beautiful" people by People en Español magazine.

Growing Up in Cuba
Greidys Gil was born in Havana, Cuba, on November 18, 1980. She grew up in a town called San Antonio de Las Vegas. Her mother, Kenya Nimo, and grandmother, Blanca Rosa Piñero, raised her.
Her father, Esnel Gil, moved to the United States in 1980. He couldn't return to Cuba for many years. Greidys didn't meet him until she was 14 years old. Greidys has a close bond with her siblings, Jackeline Gil and Yendry Mendez. She says they are her true siblings, even if they don't share the same parents.
From a young age, Greidys loved the arts. She took lessons in singing, dancing, fine arts, and theater. She also practiced rhythmic gymnastics and musical aerobics. Her teachers saw her as a very talented person.
When she was 14, Greidys was diagnosed with a kidney illness called Nephrotic Syndrome. This meant she had to stop her studies for a year. It also kept her from continuing her art education. Later, she went back to school. She studied at the University of Jose Antonio Echevarria. She earned a degree in industrial engineering.
In 2005, Greidys decided to leave Cuba. She moved to the United States to find new opportunities. She once said, "I came to the United States with nothing but a bag full of dreams." In 2011, she was able to bring her mother from Cuba. In 2014, she helped her brother move to the U.S.
Her Career Journey
Greidys Gil first became famous on the show Nuestra Belleza Latina. This was a popular beauty pageant reality show on the Univision Network. She won the third season of the show. She was also named one of the most beautiful people by People en Español magazine.
From 2009 to 2011, Greidys had a special contract with Univision. She represented the network at events in and out of the United States. She worked as a judge, reporter, or co-host. She was also a guest co-host on a popular morning radio show in New York City.
In 2010, Greidys started her acting career. She appeared in Univision's first telenovela, Eva Luna. After that, she played different roles in other shows. These included Tamara in Corazon Valiente, Silvia Villalobos in Rosario, and Karla in Marido en Alquiler.

In 2009, she was honored as a Hispanic Woman of Distinction. In 2012, she was recognized at Exponica Internacional. This was for her artistic skills and her support for the Hispanic community.
In 2014, Greidys got engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Luis Zaldivar. They live in Miami. The couple got married in January 2015 in the Dominican Republic. On February 10, 2016, they welcomed their first child, a son named Lucan Mílan. In 2018, they had a daughter named Grace.
