The Grevillea brachystylis is a cool plant often called the short-styled grevillea. It's a type of shrub that grows only in Western Australia. This means it's endemic there, found nowhere else naturally!

What Does the Short-Styled Grevillea Look Like?

This special plant usually grows between 0.3 and 1 meter tall. That's about 1 to 3 feet high. Its branches are not waxy or powdery.

The leaves are simple, meaning they are not divided. They are quite long, about 7 to 12 centimeters (3 to 5 inches). They are also narrow, only 2 to 10 millimeters (less than half an inch) wide. You can spot its unique red flowers. They bloom for a long time, from June all the way to November.

Where Does the Short-Styled Grevillea Grow?

This shrub is found in a small area. It lives along the west coast of the South West region of Western Australia.

It likes to grow among medium to tall trees. You can find it in different types of soil. It grows well in clay, sand, or even rocky soils.

Using Grevillea brachystylis in Gardens

People sometimes plant the short-styled grevillea in their gardens. It makes a great border plant. It can grow well in coastal areas. It also thrives in places with a Mediterranean climate, which means hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. Some even use it in tropical areas!
