The Grevillea oligantha is a type of shrub that belongs to the Grevillea plant family. It grows naturally in parts of Western Australia, specifically in the southern Wheatbelt, Great Southern, and south-western Goldfields-Esperance areas.

What Does Grevillea Oligantha Look Like?

This special shrub has many branches and usually grows to be about 0.3 to 2.5 meters (1 to 8 feet) tall. Its branches are not covered in a waxy, bluish layer (they are "non-glaucous").

Leaves and Flowers

The leaves of the Grevillea oligantha are simple and flat. They are shaped like an egg, wider at the top, and measure about 25 to 70 millimeters (1 to 3 inches) long and 5 to 10 millimeters (0.2 to 0.4 inches) wide.

This plant blooms with beautiful flowers from May to November. The flowers grow in clusters called an inflorescence, which can be found at the end of branches or where leaves meet the stem. The flowers can be yellow, orange, or brown.

Fruit and Seeds

After the flowers bloom, the plant produces fruit. These fruits are warty, meaning they have small bumps on them. They are shaped like an oval or an egg and are smooth (glabrous). Each fruit is about 10 to 12 millimeters (0.4 to 0.5 inches) long.

Where Does Grevillea Oligantha Grow?

The Grevillea oligantha is native to specific regions of Western Australia. This means it naturally grows there and is an important part of the local environment. It thrives in the southern Wheatbelt, Great Southern, and south-western Goldfields-Esperance areas.
