A Look at Its History
The Grove Road Strict Baptist Church was built in 1881. It was designed by J.J. Skinner. This building, made of red brick and stone, replaced an older church.
The first church was called Marsh Chapel. It was also a Strict Baptist place of worship. Marsh Chapel was built much earlier, in the first few years of the 1800s.
In 2002, the inside of the Grove Road church was updated. The church follows the beliefs of the Gospel Standard movement.
