Gu Jun (simplified Chinese: 顾俊; traditional Chinese: 顧俊; pinyin: Gù Jùn), born on January 3, 1975, is a famous former badminton player from China. She is known for being one of the best women's doubles players in the world.
Gu Jun's Amazing Career
Gu Jun and her partner, Ge Fei, were an unbeatable team in women's doubles badminton. From the mid-1990s until they retired after the 2000 Olympics, they were the top team in the world. They won more than thirty major international tournaments together. This included two Olympic gold medals and two World Championships.
They also helped the Chinese national team win important team trophies. They helped China take back the Uber Cup (the women's world team championship) from Indonesia in 1998. They then helped China keep the Cup in 2000. Gu Jun's incredible achievements led to her being added to the World Badminton Hall of Fame in 2008.
Olympic Gold Medals
Gu Jun competed in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics in women's doubles with Ge Fei. They played against Gil Young-ah and Jang Hye-ock from South Korea in the final match. Gu and Ge won the gold medal with a score of 15–5, 15–5.
They successfully defended their women's doubles title at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. They won by the exact same score as in 1996, this time against their teammates, Huang Nanyan and Yang Wei.

- Asian Games: She won a gold medal in women's doubles in 1998 and a gold medal in the women's team event in 1998. She also earned two bronze medals in 1994 for women's doubles and women's team.
- Asian Championships: Gu Jun won four gold medals in women's doubles in 1994, 1995, 1998, and 1999.
- Asian Cup: She won a gold medal in women's doubles in 1995.
- World Junior Championships: As a junior player, she won a gold medal in girls' doubles in 1992 and a bronze medal in mixed doubles in the same year.
