Guillermo Meneses (born in Caracas, Venezuela, on December 15, 1911 – died in Porlamar, Nueva Esparta, on December 29, 1978) was an important Venezuelan writer. He was also known as a playwright, meaning he wrote plays for the theater, and a journalist, someone who writes for newspapers or magazines.

His Achievements and Awards
Guillermo Meneses received the Venezuelan National Prize for Literature in 1967. This is a very high honor for writers in Venezuela. He was also given the "Order of the city of Caracas," which is a special recognition from his hometown. Another important award he received was the "Andrés Bello Order," created by President Rafael Caldera. These awards show how much his work was valued in his country.
