Later, he moved to England for more studies. He attended University College London. He earned his first science degree in 1901. Then, he received his Doctor of Science degree in 1908. This showed his deep knowledge in geology.

Career in India

In 1902, Guy Pilgrim joined the Geological Survey of India. This organization explores the geology of India. He worked hard and was promoted. In 1920, he became a superintendent. He held this important position until he retired in 1930.

After retiring, he continued his work. He spent much of his time at the Department of Geology. This department is part of the British Museum in London. He kept studying and contributing to science.

Important Discoveries

Guy Pilgrim explored many parts of the world. He studied the geology of Arabia and Persia. These are regions in the Middle East. His work helped us understand their land.

He was the first European to visit a place called Trucial Oman. This area is now part of the United Arab Emirates. He was also the first geologist to explore Bahrain Island. His discoveries there were very important. They led to the finding of oil in Bahrain. This oil is still used today.
