Guy Grossi (born 13 May 1965) is a famous Italian-Australian chef and TV personality. He owns several popular restaurants in Melbourne, Australia, and is known for his love of Italian food.
In 1996, the President of Italy gave Guy a special award called L'insegna Del Ristorante Italiano. This award recognized his hard work in sharing and promoting "La Cucina Italiana" (Italian cooking) and the Italian way of life. Guy has also written four cookbooks, including My Italian Heart and Love Italy, sharing his favorite recipes.

Meet Guy Grossi: A Chef's Story
Growing Up with Food
Guy Grossi was born in Melbourne, Australia. His parents were from Italy, and his dad was also a chef! His father moved to Australia from Milan in 1960 to work as a chef at a restaurant called Mario's in Melbourne.
Guy went to primary school at Dallas North and Glenhuntly. Later, he attended Caulfield Technical School, where he finished up to year 10.
Guy's Journey to Becoming a Chef
In 1980, when he was just 15, Guy started learning how to cook professionally at the Box Hill Institute. He began working in a seafood restaurant in Malvern. After that, he moved to Tolarno's, where his own father was in charge of the kitchen!
Later, Guy worked at Massoni's, a restaurant owned by his father and another partner. After gaining more experience, Guy and his wife, Melissa, decided to open their very own restaurant called Quadri in Armadale. In 1988, Guy's father, Pietro, joined them to open another place called Caffé Grossi.
In 1999, Guy bought a well-known Italian restaurant in Melbourne called The Florentino. He also bought the Mirka Continental Bistro in St Kilda, Victoria. He even had the beautiful murals (wall paintings) in the building restored by the original artist, Mirka Mora. These murals were first painted in the 1960s.
Guy's cooking skills became famous around the world. In 2009, he opened the Grossi Trattoria and Wine Bar in Bangkok, Thailand. He also opened The Merchant in the Rialto Towers in Melbourne in 2010. In 2012, he opened Ombra Salumi Bar right next to Grossi Florentino in central Melbourne.
