Gwen Dickey was born on December 1, 1953. She is an American musician and singer. Many people know her as the lead singer of the R&B band Rose Royce. In the band, she used the stage name Rose Norwalt.
Some of the group's most famous songs include "Car Wash" and "Wishing on a Star". In 1976, their song "Car Wash" became a number-one hit in the US. This made Gwen and the band very popular. After leaving the band in 1980, Gwen moved to the United Kingdom. There, she started her own solo music career.

Gwen Dickey started her own version of Rose Royce in 2017. It was called Gwen Dickey's Rose Royce. In 2021 and 2022, they toured all over the UK.
In 2022, Gwen was part of the "Giants of Soul Tour." She performed in 15 different places across the UK. She sang alongside other famous artists like Deniece Williams and Alexander O'Neal. In 2023, Gwen Dickey's Rose Royce was the main act at The London Palladium. This is a very famous theater in London.
In 2024, Gwen released a new music collection called "This is Gwen Dickey." It is an EP, which means "Extended Play." An EP has more songs than a single but fewer than a full album. This EP has four songs. Gwen worked with talented producers and songwriters on this project. They had also worked with other big stars like Michael Jackson and Beyoncé.
About Gwen's Life
In 2010, Gwen Dickey had a spinal cord injury at her home in London. This injury meant she needed to use a wheelchair. Even though she uses a wheelchair, Gwen still performs concerts. As of 2023, she continues to sing on stage while seated.
