Hércules de Miranda, often called just Hércules, was a famous Brazilian football player. He was born on July 2, 1912, and passed away on September 3, 1982. Hércules played as a forward and was part of the Brazilian team that played in the 1938 FIFA World Cup.

Hércules' Football Journey

Hércules was born in Guaxupé, a city in the Minas Gerais state of Brazil. He began his professional football career in 1930.

Early Club Years

Hércules started playing for a club called Juventus in 1930. He stayed with them until 1933. In the same year, 1933, he briefly played for São Paulo da Floresta.

Time at Fluminense

Later in 1933, Hércules joined Fluminense, a very well-known club. He played there for many years, until 1941. During his time at Fluminense, he helped the team win the Campeonato Carioca championship five times. These wins were in 1936, 1937, 1938, 1940, and 1941. He was a great scorer for Fluminense, getting 164 goals in 176 games.

Playing for Corinthians

In 1942, Hércules moved to another big club, Corinthians. He played 73 games for Corinthians and scored 53 goals. He retired from football in 1948.

Playing for Brazil

Hércules also played for the Brazilian national team. He played six games for his country and scored three goals.

World Cup Debut

His first game for Brazil was at the 1938 FIFA World Cup. This important match was played on June 5, 1938, against the team from Poland.

Scoring for Brazil

Hércules scored his first two goals for Brazil on March 10, 1940. This was in a game against Argentina. His last game playing for Brazil was on March 31, 1940. In that match, Brazil played against Uruguay, and the game ended in a 1–1 tie.
