H.O.T. (pronounced "H. O. T.") was a very important South Korean boy band. Their name stands for "Highfive Of Teenagers." SM Entertainment created the group in 1996. H.O.T. is often called the first K-pop idol group. They set the standard for many K-pop groups that came after them. The group had five members: Moon Hee-joon, Jang Woo-hyuk, Tony An, Kangta, and Lee Jae-won.

The Rise of H.O.T.
H.O.T. quickly became very popular. They sold over 6.4 million records in South Korea. This made them one of the best-selling groups of their time. Their music was a mix of K-pop, dance, and hip hop.
