Ustad Hussain Sayeeduddin Dagar (born April 20, 1939 – died July 30, 2017) was a famous Indian singer. People often called him Saeed Bhai. He was known for singing Indian classical music.

He specialized in a very old style of music called Dhrupad. This is the oldest type of Hindustani classical music from North India. Ustad Dagar came from the Dagar family, who are well-known musicians. He was the 19th generation of this musical family!

His cousins were also famous singers. Nasir Moinuddin Dagar and Nasir Aminuddin Dagar were called the Senior Dagar Brothers. Nasir Zahiruddin and Nasir Faiyazuddin Dagar were known as the Younger Dagar Brothers. Other musical cousins included Zia Mohiuddin Dagar and Zia Fariduddin Dagar. He even performed in a famous TV series called Bharat Ek Khoj.

His Life and Training

Hussain Sayeeduddin Khan Dagar was born in 1939 in Alwar, Rajasthan. He was the son of Hussainuddin Khan Dagar. His father passed away in 1963.

He was the last person from the 19th generation of the Dagar family's musical tradition. This family is sometimes called the 'Dagar saptak'.

He started learning music very young, at just 6 years old. His first teacher was his father, Ustad Hussainuddin Khan Dagar. Later, his uncle, Ustad Rahim-ud-in Khan Dagar, also taught him.

Ustad Dagar lived in Pune, India. He was also the President of the Dhrupad Society in both Jaipur and Pune. This shows how important he was in the world of Dhrupad music.
