Hager Hill (sometimes spelled Hagerhill) is a small community in Johnson County, Kentucky, United States. It is not a big city but a quiet place where people live. Hager Hill is located about four miles south of Paintsville. Paintsville is the main town, or county seat, for Johnson County.

History of Hager Hill

A post office was opened in Hager Hill in 1903. People are not completely sure how the community got its name. Some say it was named after a local farmer and minister named Daniel Mart Hager. Others believe it was named for the home of Sam Hager, which was on top of a hill.
