Haka (pronounced Hah-kah in Hawaiian) was an important leader in ancient Hawaii. He was the High Chief of the island of Oahu.
Life of Haka
Haka was born on the island of Oʻahu. His parents were High Chief Kapae-a-Lakona and his wife Wehina. Haka belonged to the powerful Maweke family line, which came from Tahiti.
Haka married a woman named Kapunawahine. They had a son together named Kapiko-a-Haka. Later, Kapiko-a-Haka married Ulakiokalani. They had three daughters: Ka’auiokalani, Kaʻulala, and Kamili.
Haka's time as High Chief ended when he was killed. After his death, his relative Maʻilikākahi became the new leader of Oʻahu.
