Halina Kanstancinaŭna Harełava, also known as Galina Gorelova (Belarusian: Галіна Гарэлава; Russian: Галина Горелова; born on March 5, 1951), is a talented Belarusian composer. She creates modern music that often includes sounds and ideas from traditional Belarusian folk music.
About Halina Harełava
Halina Harełava was born in Minsk, which is now the capital city of Belarus. She loved music from a young age and decided to study it seriously. She went to the National Conservatory in Minsk, a special music school, where she learned from a famous teacher named Dźmitry Smolski. She finished her studies in 1977.
After graduating, Halina Harełava started teaching music herself. She taught music theory and composition at the same Conservatory where she had studied. Her hard work and talent were recognized when she received the State Prize of Belarus in 1992. This important award was given to her for her musical piece called Anno mundis ardentis.

Halina Harełava is known for making music that sounds very Belarusian. She often uses ideas and melodies from traditional Belarusian folk songs in her compositions. She is also especially famous for writing music for children.
