About Hamblin's Water
In 2014, something important happened in Hamblin. The 38 homes there used to get their water from a well. This well was run by a group called the Hamblin Mutual Water Company.
The Well Dries Up
On September 23, 2014, the water well in Hamblin completely dried up. This meant the homes no longer had their usual water supply. It was a big problem for the people living there.
Getting Water Again
To help the residents, an emergency water connection was quickly made. Water was brought in from the nearby city of Hanford. The Kings County Department of Public Health also told everyone to boil their water. This was to make sure the water was safe to drink. Bottled water was also given to the families in Hamblin.
A Permanent Solution
After the emergency, plans were made for a lasting solution. The goal was to connect Hamblin permanently to Hanford's city water system. This would give the community a reliable and safe water source for the future.
