Hamilton Corner is a small, quiet place in Payette County, Idaho, in the United States. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and perhaps a few businesses that don't have their own local government, like a city or town does. It's located about 2.6 miles (4.2 kilometers) east-southeast of a town called New Plymouth.
Where is Hamilton Corner?
Hamilton Corner is easy to find because it sits right where two important roads meet. This meeting point is called a "junction." The roads are Idaho State Highway 52 and Idaho State Highway 72 (often shortened to SH-72).
Old Highway Routes
Interestingly, the entire length of SH-72 used to be part of a much bigger highway called U.S. Route 30 (US 30). Highways sometimes change their paths over time. Also, a road called Sand Hollow Road, which goes south from Hamilton Corner, was also part of the old US 30 route. So, Hamilton Corner has always been a spot where important roads connected!
