Hamlyn Heights is a neighborhood in Geelong, Australia. It is located west of the city. This area sits on hills that look out over Corio Bay.
The area was named after Sidney Hamlyn. He was a local resident in the 1940s. In 2016, about 6,293 people lived in Hamlyn Heights.
Its borders include Church Street and Ballarat Road. The Moorabool River also forms part of its edge.
Hamlyn Heights has two main shopping areas. A larger shopping street is found on Vines Road. The Post Office there opened on February 2, 1959. It is known as Vines Road, Geelong. A smaller group of shops is also located on Fairlie Street.

Hamlyn Heights has several schools for young people.
Primary Schools
There are two primary schools in Hamlyn Heights. These are Herne Hill Primary School and Hamlyn Banks Primary School. Hamlyn Banks Primary School was created in the late 1990s. It was formed when Hamlyn Heights Primary School and Lovely Banks Primary School joined together.
Secondary Schools
Hamlyn Heights has one secondary school. This is Western Heights Secondary College.
In 2018, a new school called Hamlyn Views opened. This school is for young people with special needs. It teaches both primary and secondary students. It is located on Quamby Avenue. This site used to be part of Bell Park High School.

Hamlyn Heights offers places for sports and recreation.
Hamlyn Park Activities
Hamlyn Park is a popular spot in the area. It is home to the Hamlyn Park Tennis Club. You can also find the Geelong Ballroom Dance Club here. The 1st Hamlyn Heights Scout Group meets at the park too.
The Bell Park Sport and Recreation Club is also based at Hamlyn Park. This club has teams that play in local football and netball competitions.
Park Development
Hamlyn Park was created from an area of waste ground and scrub. The Shire of Corio and the Geelong Scottish club worked together to develop it. They wanted to make it a multi-sport facility. Soccer was the first sport played there.
