How Manifold Heights Got Its Name
Have you ever wondered how places get their names? Manifold Heights has an interesting story! It was named after some old vineyards. These vineyards were owned by important landowners named John and Peter Manifold. They grew grapes in the area a long time ago. The vineyards were located between Minerva Road and Shannon Avenue. This was right next to the Geelong Western Cemetery in Herne Hill.

Manifold Heights has a bit of history too. The local Post Office first opened its doors on March 25, 1929. It has always been known simply as "Manifold."
