The Hangaroa River is a cool river found in the Gisborne Region of New Zealand. It starts high up in the mountains and flows all the way to the sea. This river is an important part of the local environment and home to many interesting creatures.

Where Does the Hangaroa River Flow?
The Hangaroa River begins its journey in the Huiarau Ranges. These ranges are part of the beautiful Te Urewera National Park. From there, the river flows towards the southeast.
It eventually meets up with another river called the Ruakituri River. This meeting point is close to a place called Te Reinga. When these two rivers join, they form an even bigger river known as the Wairoa River. The Wairoa River then continues its path south, finally emptying into Hawke Bay.
