About Hannes Reichelt

Hannes Reichelt was born in Altenmarkt im Pongau, a town in Salzburg, Austria. He started his journey in the World Cup in December 2001. This was a big step for him in his skiing career.

Early Career and First Wins

In December 2002, Hannes achieved his first podium finish in a World Cup race. This means he finished in the top three. His first World Cup victory came in December 2005, when he won a super-G race. Before his World Cup success, he also won the overall title in the Europa Cup in 2005. He also won the giant slalom title in the Europa Cup in 2003.

World Championship Success

Hannes Reichelt had great success at the World Championships. In 2011, he won a silver medal in the super-G event. Four years later, at the 2015 World Championships, he achieved his biggest win by taking home the gold medal in the super-G. This was a huge moment in his career!

World Cup Season Title

In the 2007–08 season, Hannes won the World Cup season title in super-G. He won by just one point, showing how close and exciting the competition was. He secured this title by winning the very last super-G race of that season by a tiny fraction of a second.

Even without a win in the 2011–12 season, Hannes still had an amazing year. He reached the podium seven times in three different types of races. This showed how versatile and skilled he was. He also achieved his best overall ranking that year, finishing 5th in the World Cup standings.
