Meet the Characters
During breaks in the cartoons, Happy would appear live from the WFFT studios. Happy was a friendly clown dressed like a hobo. He would lead fun activities for the children watching.
Happy had a special friend named Froggie. Froggie was a frog puppet whose voice was done by Craig Beaverson. Froggie even had his own morning show on WFFT Super 55 Fox called Froggie's Pad. This show featured cartoons like ThunderCats and SilverHawks. Later on, two more characters joined the fun: Chester T. Fox, played by Paul Moring, and Lawn Boy, played by Rick Miller.
How It Started
The show actually began with a different name, Happy's Hour. It first aired in 1976 on WTVQ, Channel 62, in Lexington, KY. In this early version, Tim Eppenstein played the character of Happy. Mike McMellon was the voice of Froggie.
