Happy Valley, Carter County, Tennessee facts for kids
Happy Valley is a special area located in Elizabethton, Tennessee. It's partly inside the city and partly in the nearby Carter County, Tennessee. You can find it on the west side of Elizabethton.
Happy Valley is known for its connection to the historic Taylor family. Their old home, called Sabine Hill, is an important part of the area's past.
A Look at Happy Valley's Past
Happy Valley once had its own post office. This post office helped people send and receive mail from 1850 until 1900. The very first person in charge of this post office was a man named Nathaniel Green Taylor. He was an important figure in the community during that time.
Education in Happy Valley
The Carter County Board of Education is in charge of the public schools in the area. They make sure students have good places to learn. Happy Valley is home to three schools that serve different age groups:
