Harmukh Mountain facts for kids

Harmukh is a majestic part of the mighty Himalayan mountain range. It stands tall between the beautiful valleys of Jhelum and Neelum. You can find it in the northeastern part of the Kashmir Valley, just north of Srinagar. Often, clouds cover the mountain, especially during the day, making it look mysterious.

The highest point, or peak, of this mountain is also called Harmukh. It reaches an impressive height of 16,980 feet (about 5,173 meters). It's called Harmukh because its peak can be seen from many different directions, almost like it has "many faces." Near the top of Harmukh mountain, you'll find the refreshing Sarbalnag spring.
