In 1788, Harriet married Thomas Pickard. He was from a place called Bloxworth House in Dorset. Harriet's sister, Frances, also married into an important family. Frances married Henry Bankes, who lived at Kingston Lacy.

At Kingston Lacy, there is a special painting. It was made by a famous artist named Johann Zoffany. This painting shows Harriet, her sister Frances, and their parents all together. It helps us see what they looked like.

Harriet's Artistic Talent

Harriet was a talented artist, especially with pastels. A pastellist is an artist who uses dry sticks of powdered pigment, called pastels, to create drawings. These drawings often look like paintings.

Harriet seemed to enjoy sharing her skills. She even taught her sister-in-law, Anne Bankes, how to use pastels.

Harriet Pickard passed away in 1844. She died in Bath, Somerset, a city in England.
