Harriet the Spy: Blog Wars is a fun TV movie from 2010. It stars Jennifer Stone as Harriet. The movie first aired in Canada on March 19, 2010. It then came to the United States on Disney Channel on March 26, 2010.
This film is based on the famous book Harriet the Spy by Louise Fitzhugh. It's the second movie made from the book. The first movie came out in 1996. This newer version was made by 9 Story Entertainment. You might also know Vanessa Morgan, who played Marion in this movie. She later starred in My Babysitter's a Vampire on Disney Channel.
In the book, Harriet is 11 years old. But for this movie, she is a teenager. Jennifer Stone said they wanted to keep the charm of the first book. They also wanted to make it fit modern times. The movie deals with common teen issues like gossip and crushes. It updates the story for a 2010 audience.
This movie was a bit different for Disney Channel. It was one of the first films since 1997 not called a "Disney Channel Original Movie" right away. However, Disney Channel's website now lists it as one.

Harriet's Blogging Adventure
This movie is about Harriet M. Welsch, played by Jennifer Stone. She is a young spy who loves to observe people. Harriet gets into a competition with a popular student named Marion Hawthorne, played by Vanessa Morgan. They both want to become the official blogger for their high school class.
At first, Marion's blog is more popular. Harriet's blog shares what she finds interesting. But her classmates think her blog is boring. Harriet's nanny, Golly, gives her a good idea. She tells Harriet to write about something that both she and her classmates would enjoy.
Spying on a Pop Star
Harriet decides to focus on a big pop star named Skander Hill. Wesley Morgan plays Skander. He is in town filming a movie called Spy Teen 2: The Sequel. Harriet's father, Roger Welsch, played by Doug Murray, is producing this movie.
Harriet's mother, Violetta Welsch, played by Shauna MacDonald, thinks Harriet has a crush on Skander. Harriet doesn't like Skander much at first. But she starts blogging about him anyway. She tries to spy on him during a father/daughter visit to the movie set. Skander gets upset, and Harriet has to leave the set.
Finding Clues and Trouble
Harriet then goes to the hotel where Skander is staying. She sees him arguing with movie producers. When he changes his shirt, Harriet notices a birthmark. She takes a picture of it. She also takes his water bottle. These details make her classmates like Skander even more.
Marion and her friends invite Harriet over to watch "Spy Teen." Harriet lies and sneaks away to talk to someone she thinks is Skander. But it turns out to be her friend Sport pretending to be him. Everyone gets excited, but Marion is still suspicious of Harriet.
Later, Harriet disguises herself as a maid at the hotel. She steals a hotel receipt signed by Skander. But Skander sees her, and she runs away. Harriet shows the signature to Marion. Marion says it's a fake. Skander then spots Harriet spying on him again. He follows her to her friend Janie's house.
Friendship Problems
Meanwhile, Harriet's friends decide to stop being her friends. They feel left out. They think Harriet is spending too much time with people she used to dislike. As Harriet leaves Janie's house, she bumps into a chemical made by her eco-friendly friend. This causes a loud noise. Skander thinks someone is trying to hurt him.
Back on the movie set, Skander accidentally starts a food fight. Harriet tries to record it. But she sees her father and stops recording. She then follows her nanny Golly and realizes Golly has a boyfriend. After a big argument, Harriet learns that Golly is leaving. This causes a lot of upset in Harriet's family.
Marion asks Harriet for real proof about Skander. Harriet goes back to the movie set. She gets to be an extra in the film. Skander then comes up to her and yells at her. Harriet records his angry rant.
The Blog's Impact
Harriet puts Skander's rant on her blog. Marion then shares it on the web for everyone to see. Skander quits the movie because he realizes Harriet, Roger's daughter, is the spy. Harriet soon makes up with her friends. Her friend Sport even makes a great basket in a game.
Harriet gives Skander a heartfelt apology. But Skander still wants to quit the movie. He wants Harriet to stop her blog. However, Roger won't let her stop. He believes Harriet is a talented writer. Skander then gets a big role in another movie. He hugs Harriet and kisses her cheek. Then he decides to rejoin Spy Teen 2. Everything goes back to normal.
Harriet wins the blogging competition. Marion loses because she broke the rules by sharing Skander's rant. At the end, magazines show that Skander and Harriet might have a relationship.
