Jennifer Stone (born February 12, 1993) is an American actress who later became a nurse. She is well-known for her role as Harper Finkle on the Disney Channel TV show Wizards of Waverly Place. This popular show aired from 2007 to 2012.

Jennifer also appeared in movies like Secondhand Lions (2003) and Mean Girls 2 (2011). After acting for many years, she decided to go to college to study nursing. She returned to acting briefly, even co-writing and starring in the movie The In-Between (2019). Jennifer finished nursing school in 2019 and has been working as a nurse since then.

Early Life and Education

Jennifer Stone was born on February 12, 1993, in Tarrant County, Texas. She grew up in Texas.

She went to Glendale Community College and earned a degree in nursing. Later, she continued her studies at Azusa Pacific University, where she received another nursing degree. Jennifer chose to study nursing to better understand her own type 1 diabetes diagnosis. She took a break from acting in 2013 to focus on her education.

Jennifer Stone started her acting career at a young age. Her first big role was Martha in the movie Secondhand Lions. For this role, she was nominated for a Young Artist Award. She remembers recognizing actor Michael Caine from another movie while working on the set.

Jennifer also appeared in TV shows like House and Without a Trace. In 2007, she joined the main cast of Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place. She played Harper Finkle, the best friend of Alex Russo.

In 2009, Jennifer lent her voice to the Disney Channel Original Movie Dadnapped. She also voiced Amanda, Candace's daughter in the future, in two episodes of Phineas and Ferb. In 2010, she starred as Harriet in the film Harriet the Spy: Blog Wars. She later appeared in the movie Nothing Left to Fear and the TV film High School Possession.

Life as a Nurse

Jennifer Stone is a registered nurse. In January 2018, she talked about her diabetes diagnosis on the Diabetes Connections podcast. She shared how diabetes has impacted her life and career.

In July 2019, Jennifer spoke to the Senate for the JDRF (a diabetes research foundation). She shared her personal experiences living with diabetes. She finished nursing school in December 2019, just as the COVID-19 pandemic began. Jennifer mentioned in interviews that she would be "joining the front lines" to help fight the disease.

As of 2021, Jennifer often shared updates on Instagram about her work in the hospital. By August 2022, she was working in the emergency room at a hospital in Burbank, California. In 2022, she also became a spokesperson for Medtronic's insulin pen product.
