Generator Rex is an exciting American animated TV show. It was created by Man of Action for Cartoon Network. The show is based on a comic book called M. Rex. This comic was made by Aaron Sowd, Joe Kelly, and Duncan Rouleau.

The series first aired in the United States on April 23, 2010. It finished on January 3, 2013, with a total of 60 episodes. Two episodes were never shown on TV. Generator Rex also had special crossover episodes with another popular show, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien. One special was called Ben 10/Generator Rex: Heroes United. Another special, Ben Gen 10, aired in 2021. It showed younger versions of the Generator Rex characters in the Ben 10 world.

Story of Generator Rex

The Nanite Event

Five years before the show starts, a huge explosion happened on Earth. This explosion released tiny machines called "nanites." These nanites went into the bodies of all living things. When nanites become active, they change the bodies of their hosts. Living beings with active nanites are called E.V.O.s (Exponentially Variegated Organisms). Most E.V.O.s turn into monsters.

Rex is a fifteen-year-old boy who has lost his memory. He is a permanent E.V.O., but he doesn't look like a monster. Instead, he can control his nanites. This lets him create amazing bio-mechanical weapons and tools from his body. Rex also has a special power: he can cure other E.V.O.s. He does this by deactivating the nanites inside them, turning them back to normal.

Rex works for an organization called Providence. He works with Agent Six and White Knight. His job is to stop dangerous E.V.O.s and cure them.

Rex's Main Enemy

Rex's biggest enemy is Van Kleiss. He is a scientist who became an E.V.O. with powers over the earth. Van Kleiss hates Providence. He was also involved in the original nanite explosion, known as "the Nanite Event." He wants to become super powerful by using other E.V.O.s. Van Kleiss often tries to get Rex to join him. He promises to tell Rex about his past if Rex helps him.

Van Kleiss eventually gets some of Rex's nanites. This gives him the power to create E.V.O.s just by touching people. Meanwhile, Rex gets his full powers back. He also gains access to new and stronger machines from his special Omega-1 Nanite.

New Challenges and Discoveries

Things get more complicated when Rex's older brother, Dr. Cesar Salazar, shows up. Cesar joins Providence. At one point, Rex and Van Kleiss even have to work together. They escape from a smart computer program named Zag-RS. It turns out Zag-RS was created by Cesar.

Later, Rex's ninja-like partner, Agent Six, loses his memory. This happens because of a machine Cesar invented. Six chooses not to get his memories back. Van Kleiss tries to become a "god." He uses Breach's power to create portals that can travel through time. Because of this, Rex is sent six months into the future. Van Kleiss is sent far into the past.

The Black Knight and the God Code

In the future, Rex finds that everything has changed. Providence is now run by a woman called the Black Knight. She tries to trick Rex into helping her. Her plan is to restart the Nanite Project. She wants to create five special nanites called Meta Nanites. These nanites hold something called the "God Code."

The first four Meta Nanites were spread across the planet during the Nanite Event. The fifth and most powerful one was hidden inside Rex himself. Rex's parents, Rafael and Violetta Salazar, were scientists. They secretly programmed these nanites to work only for Rex.

When Rex combines with the God Code, he gains incredible power. He uses this power to successfully cure all E.V.O.s on Earth. After this, he reunites with his friends, Tuck, Cricket, and Skwydd, who are now normal. He also forgives Cesar for his past actions. It is revealed that Van Kleiss caused Rex's parents' deaths. He trapped them inside the nanite reactor when it exploded. Van Kleiss is then taken to a special pocket dimension by Breach.
