David Clayton Henrie (born July 11, 1989) is an American actor, writer, and director. He is well-known for playing Justin Russo in the Disney Channel show Wizards of Waverly Place. He also played Luke, Ted Mosby's future son, in the TV series How I Met Your Mother. David has also starred in movies like Little Boy and Walt Before Mickey.

Early Life and Family
David Henrie was born in Mission Viejo, California. His mother, Linda Henrie, manages talent, and his father, James Wilson Henrie, is a producer. David has a younger brother named Lorenzo James Henrie, who is also an actor. Their family has Italian roots on their mother's side. David grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, and was raised in the Catholic faith.
Acting Career Highlights
David Henrie started acting at a young age. When he was 13, he got a regular role on the TV show The Pitts. He then starred in a Hallmark movie called Monster Makers. He also appeared in another Hallmark movie, Hollywood Mom's Mystery.
Early TV Roles
Before becoming famous on Disney Channel, David guest-starred in many popular TV shows. These included Without a Trace, Judging Amy, NCIS, and House. He also had a recurring role on That's So Raven as Cory's friend, Larry. From 2005 to 2014, he played Luke Mosby, Ted's future son, in the hit show How I Met Your Mother.
Becoming a Disney Star
When David was 18, he landed a big role as Justin Russo in the Disney Channel Original Series, Wizards of Waverly Place. The show first aired on October 12, 2007. He played Justin throughout the entire series. He also starred in Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie with the rest of the cast. David even helped write two episodes of the show, "Alex's Logo" and "Meet the Werewolves".
He also appeared in another Disney Channel movie called Dadnapped alongside Emily Osment. In 2009, David was named the Grand Marshal for the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race.
Voice Acting and Movies
In 2012, David lent his voice to the character of Shawn in the American English version of the animated movie The Secret World of Arrietty. He also appeared in the comedy film Grown Ups 2 in 2013. In 2014, David played the main character, Cory Weissman, in 1000 to 1: The Cory Weissman Story. This movie tells the true story of a young basketball player who had a stroke.
In 2015, David played Lane in Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2. He also co-starred in the drama Little Boy and appeared in Walt Before Mickey, a film about Walt Disney's early career.
Directing and Recent Work
David Henrie has also stepped behind the camera as a director. He directed two short films, Boo! and Catch, in 2014. In 2018, he directed a coming-of-age film called This Is the Year, which he also helped write and starred in. His Wizards of Waverly Place co-star, Selena Gomez, was an executive producer for the film. In 2023, David played Ted in the Tubi original series Underdeveloped. Since 2024, he has been starring in and executive producing Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, a new series continuing the story of Wizards of Waverly Place.
Personal Life
David Henrie got engaged to Maria Cahill in October 2016. They were married on April 21, 2017. They have three children: a daughter born in March 2019, a son born in December 2020, and another daughter born in July 2022. David is a practicing Catholic and has appeared on the American Catholic meditation and prayer app Hallow.
