The Suite Life on Deck is a fun American TV show that aired on Disney Channel. It ran from September 26, 2008, to May 6, 2011. This show is a sequel or spin-off of another popular Disney Channel series called The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.

The series follows twin brothers Zack and Cody Martin, along with hotel heiress London Tipton. But this time, they are on a new adventure aboard a cruise ship called the SS Tipton. On the ship, they go to Seven Seas High School and meet a new friend, Bailey Pickett. Their old friend, Mr. Moseby, is also there, managing the ship.

The SS Tipton travels all around the world! The characters visit countries like Italy, France, Greece, India, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. This means they get to experience many different cultures, go on exciting adventures, and find themselves in all sorts of funny situations.

The first episode of the series was shown in the UK on September 19, 2008, and in the U.S. on September 26, 2008. The U.S. premiere on Disney Channel had 5.7 million viewers, which was a huge success! It became the most-watched series premiere in Canada on the Family Channel. The show was also super popular with kids aged 6–11 and tweens aged 9–14 in 2008. It even had more viewers than other big shows like Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place.

In 2009, The Suite Life on Deck was the top-rated show for all children aged 6 to 14. The series was shown in more than 30 countries around the world. It was filmed in front of a live audience, which means people were there watching and laughing as the show was made.

A movie based on The Suite Life on Deck and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody called The Suite Life Movie aired on Disney Channel on March 25, 2011. The final episode of the series, "Graduation on Deck", aired on May 6, 2011, bringing the show to an end.

Meet the Characters

Cole Sprouse plays Cody Martin
Dylan Sprouse plays Zack Martin
Brenda Song plays London Tipton
Debby Ryan plays Bailey Pickett
Phill Lewis plays Mr. Moseby
Doc Shaw plays Marcus Little

Here are the main characters you'll meet on the SS Tipton:

  • Zack Martin, played by Dylan Sprouse, is the fun-loving and sometimes rebellious twin. He's not the best at school, but he's great at sports like basketball. Zack can be selfish, but he really cares about his brother and friends. He often tries to flirt with girls on the ship. In the third season, he starts to like a new student named Maya and becomes a surprisingly good boyfriend. They break up when Maya joins the Peace Corps, but they stay good friends.
  • Cody Martin, played by Cole Sprouse, is the smart, kind, and sensitive twin. He's an excellent student and loves learning. Cody is ten minutes younger than Zack and often gets pulled into Zack's wild plans. Zack might pick on Cody, but he also protects him. Cody cares a lot about Zack. He dates Bailey Pickett for a while, and they get back together near the end of the series. In a future scene, it's shown that Cody and Bailey get married!
  • London Tipton, played by Brenda Song, is a very rich and fashionable girl. She's the daughter of Wilfred Tipton, who owns the Tipton Hotel chain and the SS Tipton. London is often spoiled and a bit silly, but she's also happy and caring towards her friends. She has a cute pomeranian dog named Ivana. When she's excited, she claps and jumps, saying, "Yay me!" London's dad makes her attend Seven Seas High School to learn about the real world. She shares a small cabin with Bailey Pickett, and they become best friends.
  • Bailey Pickett, played by Debby Ryan, is a smart and down-to-earth girl from a small town in Kansas. She shares a room with London Tipton, and they become close friends. Bailey is a student at Seven Seas High. She came to the ship to leave her farm life behind and experience the big city. Both Zack and Cody liked her at first, but Cody and Bailey start dating. They break up for a bit but get back together later. Like Cody, a future scene shows Bailey and Cody married. In the final episode, she decides to go to Yale University.
  • Marion Moseby, played by Phill Lewis, is the strict but caring manager of the SS Tipton. He used to manage the Tipton Hotel in the previous show. Mr. Moseby uses fancy words and doesn't like much fun, so Zack and Cody's plans often annoy him. He has taken care of London Tipton like his own daughter. His famous sayings are "Good luck with that" and "If you'll excuse me." He loves ballet and collecting handkerchiefs. Even though he acts annoyed by Zack and Cody, he really cares about them. He proposes to Ms. Tutwieler in the final episode.
  • Marcus Little, played by Doc Shaw, (appears in episodes 30-55) is a former child singing star named Lil' Little. He joins the SS Tipton after his voice changed during puberty, causing him to lose his fame. Marcus shares a room with Zack. He's a bit gullible and often believes Woody's made-up stories. Marcus leaves the ship to star in a musical based on his hit song "Retainer Baby."
