Harry James Holman (born March 15, 1862 – died May 3, 1947) was a talented American actor. He was known for playing many different types of characters in movies. He appeared in about 130 films between 1923 and 1947, making him a very busy actor during his time!

Famous Movie Roles

Many people today remember Harry Holman from some classic movies. He played Professor Richmond in the 1935 film Hoi Polloi. In this movie, he tried to teach the funny Three Stooges how to be proper gentlemen.

Harry also worked often with the famous director Frank Capra. He appeared in Capra's films, including Meet John Doe (1941), where he played the mayor. He was also the confused high school teacher, Mr. Partridge, in the beloved 1946 movie It's a Wonderful Life.
