Hassan Hosny (Arabic: حسن حسني) (born June 19, 1931 – died May 30, 2020) was a very famous Egyptian actor and comedian. He was well-known for his roles in popular movies like El Nazer (2000), El basha telmiz (2004), and Zaky Chan (2005). People often called him the "Joker of Egyptian cinema."
Hassan Hosny was considered a legend in Egyptian cinema. His acting career lasted for over 50 years. During this time, he acted in almost 500 films, television shows, and theater plays.

Life and Career of Hassan Hosny
Hassan Hosny was born in the citadel area of Cairo, Egypt. This was on June 19, 1931. His father was a businessman. Sadly, Hassan lost his mother when he was only six years old.
Early Acting Days
Even when he was in school, Hassan was known for his acting skills. He started his acting career in the 1960s. He performed in theater plays as part of the Egyptian military's theater group.
His big break came when he played a dishonest government worker. This was in the popular TV show called My Dear Children, Thank You. After this, he worked on major TV shows with huge stars. These included Faten Hamama, Salah Zulfikar, and Farid Shawqi.
Versatile Actor
Hassan Hosny was very popular for his funny roles. However, he also showed that he could be a serious actor in drama shows. This proved he was a very talented and versatile performer.
Family Life
Hassan Hosny married Magda in 1995. They had three daughters and one son together. Sadly, one of his daughters passed away from a type of cancer called lymphoma.
Awards and Recognition
In 2018, Hassan Hosny received a special award. It was the Faten Hamama award at the Cairo International Film Festival. This award honored his amazing achievements and contributions to Egyptian cinema throughout his life. At the award ceremony, Hosny said he was very happy to get the award while he was still alive.
Death of Hassan Hosny
Hassan Hosny passed away on May 30, 2020. He died suddenly from a heart attack. He was buried in his family's cemetery, which is located outside Cairo. His very last performance was in a TV show called Sultana of Al Moez. This show aired during Ramadan in the same month he died.
