Hassan Nisar was born on July 5, 1951, in Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan. His family was from Amritsar and moved to Pakistan after the 1947 partition. His grandfather was a very smart person who knew English and Persian.

Hassan Nisar finished his early schooling in Faisalabad. Later, he went to the University of the Punjab in Lahore. There, he studied Journalism and Economics.

Hassan Nisar's father hoped he would work for the government. However, Hassan wanted to write movies. He began his career as a journalist in 1972.

Besides journalism, he also wrote poems and songs for films. He even edited a monthly magazine called Zanjeer.

Hassan Nisar has written several television dramas. One of his notable works is Hawa Pe Raqs (2000). This drama was about a father and son who had very different ideas about life. It showed the challenges between them.

His Role in Politics

Hassan Nisar has always been interested in politics. He supported Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in the past. Because of his views, he faced difficulties from the government at one point. He even had to live in Saudi Arabia for some time. More recently, he has shown support for Imran Khan.
