Hastings is a small, unincorporated community located in Jefferson Township, within Kosciusko County, in the state of Indiana. An "unincorporated community" means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government, like a city or town would.
A Glimpse into Hastings' History
Hastings once had its very own post office! This important building was opened in 1891. A post office helps people send and receive mail, connecting them to others far away. However, the post office in Hastings eventually closed its doors in 1903. It is thought that the community was named after a family who were among the first people to settle and live in this area.
