Hazelwood's History
Hazelwood got its name from Daniel Hazelwood, who was one of the first settlers in the area. A post office was opened here in 1884. It helped people send and receive mail until it closed in 1937.
The community is also known as the home of J.R. Edmondson. He was a talented athlete who won the 3200-meter track championship in 2015.
