Heather Hemmens (born July 10, 1984) is an American actress, director, and producer. She is famous for her roles in several TV shows. You might know her as Alice Verdura from Hellcats. She also played Stacy Collins in the Netflix comedy Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! with Jamie Foxx. From 2019 to 2022, she starred as Maria DeLuca in Roswell, New Mexico. Before that, she was Marcie Holmes for five seasons on the OWN series If Loving You Is Wrong.

Early Life and Education

Heather Hemmens grew up in the quiet woods of Waldo, Maine. She lived there with her two older brothers and an older sister. For high school, she first attended Mount View High School in Thorndike, Maine. Later, she moved to the Walnut Hill School for the Arts near Boston. This is a special school for performing arts. She graduated from Walnut Hill in 2002. After finishing school, she moved to Los Angeles. Her goal was to start a career in acting. Heather also has a black belt in martial arts and is trained in using weapons.

Acting Career Highlights

Heather Hemmens began her acting journey with smaller parts. She appeared in movies like The Dukes of Hazzard (2005) and Glory Road (2006). Besides acting, Heather has also directed and produced short films. These include Perils of an Active Mind and Designated, both released in 2010.

In 2010, she got a big role in Hellcats, a The CW series. She played Alice Verdura in this comedy-drama about college cheerleading. Many critics praised her performance, calling her the show's breakout star. Even though the show was canceled after one season in 2011, Heather's acting stood out.

She also made guest appearances on many popular TV shows. These include CSI: NY, CSI: Miami, Without a Trace, The Haves and the Have Nots, Grey's Anatomy, and The Vampire Diaries.
