Heather Menzies Urich (born December 3, 1949 – died December 24, 2017) was a Canadian-American model and actress. She was best known for playing Louisa von Trapp in the 1965 film The Sound of Music. She also starred as Jessica 6 in the TV series Logan's Run.

Early Life and Education
Heather Margaret Brotherston Menzies was born in Toronto, Canada, on December 3, 1949. Her parents were from Scotland and moved to Canada after a big war. Her father was an artist.
By the time Heather was 14, her family had moved many times. She lived in places like Vancouver, Miami, London, and Southern California. She had a younger sister named Sheila and an older brother named Neil.
Heather graduated from John Burroughs High School in Burbank, California, in 1967. She also studied acting at Falcon Studio's University of the Arts.
Acting Career Highlights
Heather Menzies started her acting career in 1964. Her first TV show was The Farmer's Daughter.
Her most famous role came in 1965. At just 14 years old, she was chosen to play Louisa von Trapp in The Sound of Music. Louisa was the third-oldest of the von Trapp children. Heather had no acting experience before this big movie. She sang songs like "So Long, Farewell" and "Lonely Goatherd" in the film.
After The Sound of Music, Heather appeared in many other TV shows. These included Alias Smith and Jones, T. J. Hooker, Dragnet, and Bonanza. She also played Jessica 6 in the TV series Logan's Run.
Heather also acted in several movies. Some of her films were Hawaii, Piranha, and Endangered Species. She also appeared in TV movies like James Dean and Captain America.
Personal Life and Family
Heather Menzies married John Cluett in 1969, but they divorced in 1973.
In 1975, she married actor Robert Urich. They first met in 1974 while working on a TV commercial together. Heather and Robert adopted three children.
After Robert Urich passed away in 2002, Heather started the Robert Urich Foundation. She spent much of her later years working for this organization. The foundation helps raise money for cancer research. It also supports people who are battling cancer.
Later Years and Passing
In November 2017, Heather Menzies-Urich was diagnosed with a serious brain tumor. She passed away on December 24, 2017.
