The Story of HVF
How HVF Started
The Heavy Vehicles Factory (HVF) began in 1961. It was created by the Ordnance Factory Board. The main goal was to make heavy equipment for battlefields. The Army Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (EME) helped design the factory. The Indian Army Corps of Engineers managed its construction.
Becoming Part of AVANI
In 2021, HVF became part of a new organization. This new group is called Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVANI). This change helped to make the factory's work even better.
The HVF Factory and Its Power
Powering the Factory with Sunshine
The HVF factory uses clean energy to run. It has a large solar power plant. This plant covers about 80 acres of land. It started working in 2018. Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) built this solar plant.
Helping the Environment
This solar plant is very helpful for our planet. It stops about 26,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) from going into the air each year. This is good because CO2 can harm the environment. The plant also saves a lot of money every year.
