Heinrich IV, Prince Reuss (born October 26, 1919 – died June 20, 2012) was an important leader of the German princely family known as the House of Reuss. This family once held a special position in a small area of Germany.
About Heinrich IV
Heinrich IV was born in Ernstbrunn, Austria. His father was Prince Heinrich XXXIX Reuss. His mother was Countess Antonia of Castell-Castell.
Heinrich IV became the head of his princely family. This happened after the previous head, Prince Heinrich XLV, disappeared in 1945. He was officially declared deceased in 1962.
Heinrich IV lived with his family at Castle Ernstbrunn in Lower Austria. His son, Prince Heinrich XIV, later bought back some family property. This property had been taken by the government in Eastern Germany.
Family Life
On June 10, 1954, Prince Heinrich IV married Princess Marie Luise of Salm-Horstmar. She was born in 1918 and passed away in 2015. Marie Luise was the daughter of Otto, Prince of Salm-Horstmar.
Heinrich and Marie Luise had four children together. They had one son and three daughters:
- Heinrich XIV, Prince Reuss of Köstritz (born July 14, 1955) is the current head of the family. He is married to Baroness Johanna Raitz von Frentz. They have two sons and two daughters:

- Princess Espérance Eleonore Anna Elisabeth Reuss (born July 22, 1962). She is married to Count Johannes Ferdinand Kinsky von Wchinitz und Tettau.
