Helge Hagerup (born April 21, 1933 – died August 12, 2008) was a Norwegian writer. He wrote many different kinds of stories, including plays for the stage, poems, and novels. He was born in Trondheim, Norway. His mother, Inger Hagerup, was a very famous poet, and his brother, Klaus Hagerup, was also a well-known writer.

Helge Hagerup's Life and Work
Helge Hagerup began his writing career early. He published his first book in 1949. This book was a collection of short stories called Vi fem i annen etasje.
Becoming a Playwright
Helge Hagerup became especially famous for writing plays. These are stories written to be performed on a stage by actors. Many of his plays were shown at the Nationaltheatret, which is a big and important theater in Norway.

Other Types of Writing
