Hemilienardia apiculata is a tiny type of sea snail. It's a marine mollusk, which means it's an animal with a soft body, often protected by a shell. This snail belongs to a group called gastropods and is part of the family Raphitomidae.
What Does It Look Like?
Its shell is quite small, usually between 3 and 8 millimeters long. That's about the size of a few grains of rice!
The shell itself is a see-through white color. It also has a cool pattern: a line of bright white spots around the middle part of its shell, called the body whorl.
Where Does It Live?
You can find this sea snail living in the ocean near New Caledonia and off the coast of Queensland, Australia. These are warm, tropical waters where many interesting marine animals live.
