Henriette Catherine de Joyeuse was an important French noblewoman. She was born on January 8, 1585, and lived until February 25, 1656. Her father was Henri de Joyeuse. Henriette Catherine married twice in her life. Her first husband was Henri de Bourbon, Duke of Montpensier. They married in 1597. Later, in 1611, she married Charles, Duke of Guise.

First Marriage: Henri de Bourbon
With her first husband, Henri de Bourbon, she had one child:
- Marie de Bourbon, Duchess of Montpensier (born October 15, 1605 – died June 4, 1627). Marie grew up and married Gaston, Duke of Orléans. They became the parents of a famous lady known as la Grande Mademoiselle.
Second Marriage: Charles, Duke of Guise
From her second marriage to Charles, Duke of Guise, Henriette Catherine had ten children:
- François de Lorraine (born April 3, 1612 – died December 7, 1639)
- Twin boys (born March 4, 1613 – died March 19, 1613). Sadly, these twins were very weak and passed away shortly after birth.
- Henri de Lorraine, Duke of Guise (1614–1664). He also became an Archbishop of Reims, which is a high religious position.
- Marie de Lorraine, Duchess of Guise (1615–1688)
- A girl, known as Mademoiselle de Joinville (born March 4, 1617 – died January 18, 1618). She was born healthy but got sick during the winter and died young.
- Charles Louis de Lorraine (born July 15, 1618 – died March 15, 1637, in Florence). He was known as the Duke of Joyeuse.
- Louis de Lorraine, Duke of Joyeuse (1622–1664). He also held the title of Duke of Angoulême.
- Françoise Renée de Lorraine (born January 10, 1621 – died December 4, 1682, in Montmartre). She became an Abbess at Montmartre, which means she was the head of a convent for nuns.
- Roger de Lorraine (born March 21, 1624 – died September 9, 1653)
