Henrique Córdova (born December 21, 1938 – died November 15, 2020) was an important Brazilian politician. He served as the Governor of Santa Catarina, a state in Brazil, from 1982 to 1983. Before that, he was a member of the Chamber of Deputies (a big group of lawmakers) from 1986 to 1991 and also from 1975 to 1979. He also worked in the Legislative Assembly of Santa Catarina from 1967 to 1975, which is like a state-level parliament.

Henrique Córdova's Political Journey

Henrique Córdova was the Vice-Governor of Santa Catarina when Jorge Bornhausen was the Governor. When Governor Bornhausen decided to leave his position in 1982, Córdova stepped up to become the new Governor. This meant he was in charge of leading the state.
During his time as Governor, he worked hard to make Santa Catarina more important and well-known across Brazil. His efforts helped the state gain more respect and attention from the national government in Brasília, which is the capital city of Brazil.
Later Life and Passing
Henrique Córdova passed away in November 2020. He was 83 years old. His death was caused by COVID-19.
