The Hepburn Mineral Springs Reserve is a special natural area in Hepburn Springs, Victoria, Australia. It's about 30 hectares (74 acres) big. This reserve is famous for its natural mineral springs. People have been coming here since the 1860s to drink the unique water and even bathe in it. Why the Springs are Special
Back in 1864, people living in the area realized how important the mineral springs were. They met at the Savoia Hotel and asked the government to protect the springs from mining. They believed the water was even more valuable than gold! Because of their efforts, the Hepburn Mineral Springs Reserve was officially created in 1865. Many people living there had moved from "spa" towns in countries like Italy, Germany, and England. They knew how special these natural springs were.
The Hepburn Bathhouse
A special building called a bathhouse was first built here in the 1890s. Over the years, it has been updated and rebuilt many times. After a big renovation that cost A$13 million, the Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa reopened in September 2008. It's a popular place for people to relax and enjoy the mineral waters. Different Mineral Springs
