Hera Björk Þórhallsdóttir (born March 29, 1972) is a talented singer from Iceland. She is well-known for representing her country in the famous Eurovision Song Contest. She has participated in this big music competition twice.
Hera Björk's Music Journey
Hera Björk first represented Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. She sang the song "Je ne sais quoi". This was a big moment for her. She made it to the Grand Final of the contest.
Later, in 2013, Hera Björk won an award at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival. This festival is held in Chile. She won in the "Best Song" category with her song "Because You Can". This showed her talent to a wider audience.
Eurovision 2024
Hera Björk returned to the Eurovision stage in 2024. She was chosen to represent Iceland again. Her song was called "Við förum hærra" in Icelandic. The English version was "Scared of Heights".
She competed in the Icelandic national final, called Söngvakeppnin 2024. She won the competition with the English version of her song. This meant she would go to Eurovision for the second time.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 took place in May 2024. Hera Björk performed in the first semi-final. Unfortunately, she did not get enough points to move on to the Grand Final. Even so, representing her country twice at such a big event is a great achievement.
