This section tells you about Herb Miller's career in professional football.
Starting with the Kansas City Chiefs
After college, Herb Miller was not chosen in the NFL draft. But he got a chance to try out with the Kansas City Chiefs. They signed him as an "undrafted free agent" on May 7, 2019. This means he joined the team without being drafted. However, he was later released by the Chiefs before the regular season began.
Time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
In December 2019, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers added Herb Miller to their "practice squad." The practice squad is a group of players who train with the team but are not on the main roster. They can be moved to the main team if needed.
He was signed to a full contract in January 2020. He was later moved between the main team and the practice squad several times. During a game against the Detroit Lions, Miller made his first ever interception. This is when a defensive player catches a pass meant for an offensive player.
Herb Miller was part of the Buccaneers team that won Super Bowl LV. This is the championship game of the NFL season. The Buccaneers beat the Chiefs in this big game. After the Super Bowl, Miller re-signed with the Buccaneers in February 2021. He was later released from their practice squad in September 2021.
Playing for the Cleveland Browns
In September 2021, Miller joined the Cleveland Browns practice squad. He was moved to the Browns' main team several times that year. This often happens when a team needs extra players due to injuries or other reasons.
In January 2022, the Browns signed Miller to a new contract. He continued to move between the main team and the practice squad during the 2022 season.
Brief Stays with Other Teams
After his time with the Browns, Herb Miller signed with the Carolina Panthers in January 2023. He was released by them in August 2023.
