Herbert Bradley (born in 1888 – died on 21 June 1918) was an English professional footballer. He played as an outside left, which is a forward player on the left side of the field. He played for several teams in the Football League.

Playing for Top Clubs
From 1906 to 1909, Bradley played for Bury. He appeared in 18 games for them. Later, in 1910, he moved to Notts County, where he played in 3 matches. In 1911, he joined Preston North End and played 2 games. He also played for other teams like Great Harwood and Nelson.
A Wartime Hero
During the First World War, Herbert Bradley bravely served his country. He joined the Royal Garrison Artillery as a gunner. This meant he operated large guns used in battles.
Captured in War
On April 5, 1918, while working as an artillery observer at the front lines, he was captured by German forces. He became a prisoner of war. He was taken to a prisoner of war camp in Limburg an der Lahn, Germany.
His Final Days
Sadly, Herbert Bradley passed away in the camp on June 21, 1918. He died from an illness. He was buried in Avesnes-sur-Helpe Communal Cemetery in France.
